San Jose – Day 7

A cool, overcast start to the day but clearing to become sunny and 25C. We headed into town around 8:45am for breakfast at Cafeteria Cochimi which was very good. My question from yesterday got answered this morning as they were starting to dismantle the Christmas tree in the plaza. Stopped at the chocolate store on the way past and had a good conversation with Isaac who we had previously met in Walmart by coincidence! back at the Condo by 10:15am. I went out again at 11am to my favourite place, the nearby estuary. Watched all the numerous birds out on the water and tried to identify some of them. Osprey, pelican, egret, coot, wigeon, blue winged teal, turnstone, emerald ibis were among the many sightings. Back to the condo by 12:15pm. Around 3:30pm I went for my final walk along the beach for an hour. At 6:30pm headed back into town for our evening meal. We are always amused by the many pharmacies on our walk into town and it is interesting that sunglasses are included amongst all of the drugs!! In the plaza we found the Christmas tree now in sections scattered on the ground. Dinner was at SanToro restaurant which is upstairs overlooking the plaza. A good Mexican meal served by Joanna. On the way back to the condo we stopped for a final chat with our favourite doorman, Maurice at K-Trina.
