San Jose – day 2
San Jose is a coastal city on Baja California. 32km northeast of Cabo San Lucas. Population is around 140,000. From our condo it is a short walk down the hill to the main road. Right takes you to the beach and left takes you to the town centre. Weather today was sun and cloud with temperatures around 27C. In the morning we did the 20 minutes walk to the beach where the hotels are all located. A long sandy beach round the bay. In the afternoon I started with the 10 minute walk into the town centre. It has a large central plaza with the cathedral at the top end. Mostly shops and restaurants along the streets. Then walked back towards the beach and into the river estuary nature reserve. Unable to reach many of the areas due to the flooding but interesting walking though the trails and seeing all the birds. Most of the water was green from all the algae. In the evening we went into the town as Thursday night is the “Art Walk”. the whole centre filled with artists displaying their work. Very busy but interesting to see it. Stopped at K-Trina restaurant for dinner upstairs, Maurice was at the door. Not a large restaurant but good Mexican food and margaritas along with a live music duo. Home by 9pm.
