Venezia

Arrived in Fusina at 7am. This is now the closest cruise terminal for Venezia since they banned cruise ships. It is also a ferry terminal and about 18.5km from Venezia. A wet rainy morning with temperatures around 16C. Our tour today was just a boat ride into Venezia then free time to explore. We boarded our boat around 8am and our guide was Anita who explained some of the history of Venezia during our 45 minute boat ride. We arrived at Coronoldi Palazzo which is near San Marco. Wandered off down the back streets in wet weather and explored various stores and churches before stopping at Bacaro Risorto for a cappuccino and pastry. Returned to Piazza San Marco which was not too busy this early in the morning. carried on through, exploring stores until we came to Rialto bridge. Retraced our steps and stopped at Ristorante La Piazza for an early lunch of wine and pizza. Back across Piazza San Marco for our boat pickup at 12:45pm. Returned to Fusina by 1:30pm.
